The kid (Hogan) was being lied to by Chief elder and that since he started to learn the secrets of the community,so he is planning to reveal the secrets to everyone.

The result of the protagonist when he/she realized that the community had been controled, was to stand up for his community and fix the situation. He helped the community get rid of the chief along with the messenger, and let the people control it.

Hogan wanted change in his community because he didn't want the community to under the Chef's power, he wanted the people to have control, and wanted them to know the truth. So he decided to take a stand and tell people that they have been lied to and told them the truth.

 the result of the protagonist when he/she realized the community was controlled was that Hogan had to help the the people free themselves from being under the control of the chief so the people would no longer have to listen to whatever the chief said
