ISLCC Standards and Technology

The Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium Standards for School Leaders (a.k.a. ISLLC), were created by the Council of Chief State School Officers and are the foundation of nearly every state's standards for administrator licensure and certification. The ISLLC framework was adopted in 1996 and is organized around six basic standards. The ISLLC standards only mention technology twice:

Standard 2: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by
advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

• The administrator has knowledge and understanding of the role of technology in promoting student learning and professional growth

Standard 3: A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by ensuring management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.

• The administrator has knowledge and understanding of current technologies that support mangement functions
