  • September 28th - Today we did activity 1.1 on springboard the students answered questions on the Essential Questions part both the 1st and 2nd question

    1st question - needs to be answered in the sense of an artist who paints, what do they do that conveys meaning when they are painting, does it have to do with lighting, the colors they use, types of paper they use, types of images etc.

    2nd question - needs to be answered in the sense of what does that mean to you, when you hear stranger what comes to mind, when you hear village what comes to mind, if you are a stranger in a village does that mean you are bad or come to harm, what what you think would make a stranger in a village seem different?

    September 29th/30th - Today we went on spring board activity 1.2 and some of 1.3, the students did the Literary theory on the page.

    1st question - you to go to the page labeled picture look at the pic and then explain how one picture can be perceived in two ways

    2nd question - explain how your perception changes as you look at the image. What makes your perception change?

    3rd question - chose three aphorisms that you like write them under question three.

    Writing prompt - pick one of those aphorisms, explain how this aphorism relates to the world or a view, and then write a circumstance where you relate it happening, please use transitions to go to one point to the next 

    Check understanding - create your own aphorism

     1.3 Spring Board

    use the "How Are Perspectives Different" area, read the information complete chart

    example - 1. student being ticketed, how much, money, get out of ticket 

    After completing chart do the "Check Your Understanding" part and write a response using one of the character to how they would have reacted or spoke about the situation to the student.

    students need to go on to 1.4 on springboard and read both scenarios under Reader Response Criticism and then answer the question "how did the reader, situation, and text impact the ability to make meaning?"

    October 2, 2015

    on 1.4 on springboard you need to do the before reading, the during reading, and the after reading

    October 5, 2015 - 1.5 before, during , and after reading

    October 6th/7th - 1.5 after reading, check your understanding, seeing the world 1 and 2 

    October 19th- go on spring board complete 1.7

    October 20th/21st - go on springboard complete activity 1.8 stop at after reading go on youtube watch termination of native americans read poem then answer questions

    October 22nd- complete imagery chart on 1.8

    October 23rd - complete last two charts on analyzing section 1.8

    October 26th - complete diction chart on 1.8 and also write I remember poem from childhood describing a memory explaining the taste, hearing, sight, touch, and smell of the memory

    October 27th/28th - all of 1.9

    October 30th - 1.10 before, during, after reading

    November 2nd- vignette poem

    November 3rd/4th - vignette poem finished. 1.12 before reading

    November 6th - 1.12 number 4 and writing prompt

    November 9th - before reading, during reading 1.13

    November 10th/12th - after reading, number 4 on 1.13

    November 13th - start Embedded assessment photo essay

    November 16th - thesis and rationale of photo essay

    November 30th - 1.16
